What is a Solar Cell
A Solar Cell is a solid state device that converts Light to electrical energy by
PhotoVoltaic Effect. The correct term for solar cell is photovoltaic cell as it
can convert any form of light into energy, not just sunlight. The term solar
cell is used when the photovoltaic cell is used in sunlight.
These devices are made from semiconductor, materials, such as silicon (Si),
gallium arsenide (GaAs)
and copper sulphate (Cu2S).
